IronHorse Takes Title Sponsorship in Prineville's Annual Horse Races
April 27, 2006IronHorse announced today that it has committed to the title
sponsorship role for the IronHorse Para-mutuel Horse Racing event. Held
July 5-8 of 2006, this annual event is the real thing, including actual
betting and winning on horses.
"We are so pleased to be entering
into a lasting relationship with IronHorse," said Hank Simmons,
president of the board for the event. "Support from our neighbors on
long-standing community events like the horse races is vital for our
continued success. We look forward to continuing the relationship over
the next few years, and putting together a great race for our region."
Prineville's
Para-mutuel Horse Races have been formally held for 41 years in Crook
Country, with races ran at a Prineville track as early as 1916.
Prineville horse racers have included names such as John Hudspeth,
Claude Hudspeth, Jack Rhoden, Tom Alexander, Michael and Amy Stafford,
Jonathan Nance and Scott Nance.
Because of its commitment to
support cultural and social activities in the area, IronHorse found
this event to be a perfect fit for its own community involvement.
"Being
part of this event was important to us as members of the Prineville
community," said Randy Jones, project manager for IronHorse. "The
strong horse racing history of the property our development sits on,
plus our desire to participate in community events solidified our
decision to take a large role in this year's and future horse races."
The calendar of events for the races includes:
